School food programme

One of our favourite jobs so far has been the delivery and install of 5x Orto planter boxes at the Fitzroy North Primary School.

You might be surprised but lots of kids enjoy getting involved in growing their own food and the whole concept of water travelling upwards via the wicking process is little bit mind bending. Schools have some great environmental education programmes inside the classroom so hopefully the Orto boxes are a nice practical extension of those.

We understand money in Schools is always tight so we only charge for the boxes and do the delivery and installation for free. Fitzroy North Primary was also able to get free soil and plants from their local nursery for the project.

Kids are able to help out during the planting and that was great fun for everyone involved.
